Our Purpose and Vision

At Etiwanda Community Church, our purpose is to teach the undiluted Word of God almighty.

God is doing many things in our lives:

Renewing, Revival, Refreshing and Restoration

The vision of ECC is to see more people learn the love and grace that God gives.

Our mission is to help others seek God and His will for our lives, both as individuals and as a Church together.

We do this through the teachings of the Bible, in its entirety. We aim to provide a nurturing environment for bible studies, prayer, worship, and praise, allowing all to deepen their faith and connection with God.

Our History

Etiwanda Church has a rich history of spreading the message of the Bible. Established in Rancho Cucamonga in 1897, our church has been a beacon of faith for the community ever since. Our journey is marked by dedicated service, spiritual growth, and a commitment to sharing the word of God.

This classic white New England-style church building has been around since 1902. Initially named Etiwanda Congregational Church, it later became Etiwanda Community Church after a few pastors. Since then, it has been a non-denominational church.

Interesting facts:

Established in 1897, Etiwanda Church was the first church in the Etiwanda area.

Etiwanda church has had continuous services at its current location since 1902, with every service starting with the Ringing of the Bell.

Between 1958 to 1960, legal trials were held in the basement.

What currently serves as the church nursery in the basement, was originally a meeting place for the Boy Scouts. Today, we are proud to have Troop 650 use the church as their home.

Get to Know the Pastor

Pastor Shawn started attending ECC in the early 90's. He left the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California in 1994. He initially moved to help on a friend's property, then moved to his mom's home in Nevada, and ended up in Washington State in 1996.

In Washington, he attended New Heights Church in Vancouver, where he was involved in a college group bible study and made the decision to be baptized. Subsequently, he became a Bass player on the church's worship team and played in a Christian band..

In January 2000, Pastor Shawn returned to California and his hometown, Rancho Cucamonga. At that time he started attending ECC again. In 2001, Shawn was asked to join the praise team to play the bass and guitar. Three years later, in 2004, he became the Praise leader. During that time, he attended men's bible study, family nights, and most church functions.

In 2004, the elders of the church asked Shawn to become a deacon. This led to Shawn becoming an Elder in 2005, at which time he served on the church board. From 2005 to 2016, Shawn served as the Praise team leader, Elder, and Board Member. He was asked to become the Associate Pastor in 2016. Shawn led the men's group, the praise team, and the Wednesday night Bible study, and presented God's word on Sunday mornings once a month and when the Sr. Pastor was out of town.

In September of 2017, Shawn became Sr. Pastor by vote of the congregation of Etiwanda Community Church and continues to serve as pastor today.
